Where to Land

Santa Barbara Airport (KSBA)

If you are flying in from Southern California, definitely fly the coastline from Santa Monica up to Santa Barbara.  It will simply take your breath away.  You will see the Channel Islands off your left wing enroute.  If you don't mind over water flying, swing out to the Islands for some rugged islands viewing and then turn direct Santa Barbara.  Don't forget life jackets.  There is no place to land on the islands, just take in the scenery.  Santa Barbara tower is very general aviation friendly.  Park at Signature if you are making a day trip.  You can walk to the Beachside Bar Cafe (see Places to Eat below).
