What to Do

Santa Barbara's number one attractions are its beach, wharf, restaurants and shopping.  All of this is within walking distance of each other.

The Santa Barbara Mission is perhaps the jewel of the 21 or so missions in California.  You can easily spend a half day walking through and around the mission and grounds.  Bring a camera and perhaps a picnic lunch.

Later, head over to the Santa Barbara Zoo.  It's a great medium-sized zoo and a definite stop on the Santa Barbara tour.

If you are into gardens, the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens, located at 1212 Mission Canyon Road, are the place to go.  There you can visit and enjoy exquisite exhibits of California native plants set in beautifully designed landscapes.

You can also do some great wine tasting in the Santa Barbara wine appellation.  Most of the best wineries are over the hills into Santa Ynez Valley.  Click Here for more information.
