The turnout wasn't as much as we
expected. I believe weather and the earlier
cancellations were the
primary
factors. We had one close call during the landing phase. The food was
quite good and reasonable.
After everyone ate we organized a group photo
with the ones who hadn't gone
down to Avalon. After
the group photo everyone
stuck around and chatted for over an hour. This
interactive activity makes the
VMG events worthwhile. As usual, we all had one common connection of
being
Mooney owners and pilots.
This common thread sets the stage for individuals to
discuss Mooneys,
flying and the overall joy of flying
void of our normal lives
related to jobs, status and income. This is the
reason for the Vintage Mooney
Group.
A Huge THANK YOU to Wendy Baxter for organizing this unique
fly-in, and for Carl Swepston for managing
a great fly-in and VMG day!
