We had 6 Mooneys with 11 people fly in to Catalina's "Airport in the Sky". Most came from the SOCAL area hoping to escape a week-long heat wave, while one of the Mooneys came all the way from Oregon.

Unfortunately, monsoonal thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts prevented folks further east from attending. Catalina was hot! Yet we all enjoyed a delightful lunch on the patio, including the ever popular Buffalo Burger; with the Buffalo grazing a few yards away. Catalina is always a challenging landing and our favorite comment of the day by Jim of San Diego was "Catalina landings always have you feeling that you are both to high and to low all at the same time"! We all enjoyed making new acquaintances and had a great time visiting with other Mooniacs.
