The turnout to Paso Robles was one of the largest ever for
our Vintage Mooney Group. Good weather and fantastic Mooneys filled the
day, including a tour of the Estrella Warbird Museum, a fun hangar BBQ, and an
aerobatic competition over the field. Welcome to new & old members who
joined us. It was great to see old friends and make new ones.
Thanks to everyone who helped Linda & I to do this fly-in,
especially our partner-in-crime, Bill Barnes, who along with Ozzie & Jo Kaufmann
came the night before to have fun and help out.
A special thanks to Larry "TCAS" Palmer and Damon Trimble who helped park all
those Mooneys. Thanks to Anita Palmer for collecting the donations for
lunch and VMG shirts & hats, and not pocketing too much of the change.
Thanks to Jo Kaufmann & Erika Palmer and all the others who helped keep the BBQ
rolling. And a special thanks to Ron Thompson and his wife Stella for
walking onto the Fly-In and shuttling everyone back & forth to the Museum as
well as getting us a great discount. How could we not thanks Ozzie
Kaufmann for all his help and also for wearing the BIG PINK T-shirt! And
thanks to everyone else who helped make this a great Vintage VMG Fly-In.
