Hello All, I'm once again very pleased to announce yet another successful fly-in at California City Airport. This one was hosted by our Friends Dan & Trudy of D&T Aircraft on Saturday December 6th. They did a great job of whipping up a delicious BBQ of hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as offering us a great presentation of their services.

They also surprised us with a couple of guest speakers. One was Gary from the FAA that covered such topics as flame retardant upholstery, and the inevitable "Ramp-Checks". That was pretty interesting in and of itself...if what he told us was indeed correct. According to what Gary told us, an FAA inspector would be able to ground just about any plane at any time. The other speaker was Trudy's sister "Judy Smith" discussing her computer automation service of log-books.

Despite the less than favorable weather conditions and missing our friends from Northern CA, we still had 26 Mooneys show up and 51 people. Not bad at all when you also take into consideration that this event fell right between the holidays. If this is any indication the participation we can expect next spring, we're going to be filling the ramps with wall to wall Mooneys everywhere we go.

We're sorry for those of you Northern CA folks that got weathered in and could not attend. We will however look forward to seeing you in January. Once again Jan and Art Turner were kind enough to post several picture of our California City Fly-In on their web-site at: http://members.aol.com/janspics/page1/
