Although weather was a major factor, broken at 9:30 a.m. and solid overcast by 10:15 a.m., ten planes and fifteen people showed up at the airport. Scott McKelvey and John Chandler were first and waited until about 11:20 a.m. for the rest of the gang to arrive.

The luncheon buffet began at noon and everyone especially enjoyed the brownies and apple pie a la mode that was served after lunch.

The owner of Leonard's Cafe then held the raffle. Scott won first prize; a glider ride. Roger Presgrove won second prize; the picture mug, and his girl friend won third prize, a pizza which she has contributed to the Columbia Fly-In in June.

Ed Shreffer has generously donated some miscellaneous airplane parts to be auctioned off at Columbia. The proceeds will go to the Vintage Mooney Group.

We gathered on the front steps of the El Monte Terminal building for our very first photograph of the VMG to be taken. Following all of these events, we finally got to the "tire kickin" portion of our fly-in. A good time was had by all.

See you all at the Columbia Fly-In.
