Our second fly in to Kingman was organized by Carl Swepston
and he did a great job organizing the food and entertainment. Thank you Carl!
Twenty two Mooneys and about fifty people attended. Jill and Carl Hays were
gracious in providing their huge aircraft hangar facility for the tables, chairs
and our group lunch. Mr. Hays gave a talk about the two Mooneys he has owned
over the years, then spoke of his aircraft rebuilding business that we were
having lunch in. Then another fellow gave a spell binding talk on aircraft air
and oil filters. Those who failed to take notes must repeat this lecture series!
Mr. Hays ferried the group around the Kingman Airport to the museum, then to the
hangar for lunch and then back to the airport in his "Disneyland" type passenger
trailer. As always, we had some new members attend for the first time and they
purchased polo shirts and a few pilot caps! For those of you who were wondering
whether or not Tom Jacobsen of Wyoming actually flew in Mooney 79337 from the
Henderson (Las Vegas) Airport to the Kingman fly in or chose to walk to Lake
Havasu City instead, the answer is that he enjoyed his Mooney flight to Kingman
and Lake Havasu City, AZ, his first small plane flight since July 1979.
